Government Policies, Implementation Leadership and Green Management Practices in an Emerging Economy

Abstract—This study aims to investigate the effects of government practices and leadership activities on the way of implementing green management practices in firms. In order to address this aim, a survey was conducted on a sample of 153 firms which operate in the chemical and petrochemical industries in Turkey. The findings revealed that leadership activities contributed more than government policies on the adoption of green management practices of the firms. However, the combined effect of the government policies and leadership activities was the greatest on the adoption of green management practices.
